Miley Cyrus-slash-Hannah Montana's Best of Both Worlds Tour is on a roll as it continues to top the concert ticket sales charts, with fans eager to get their hands on the tiny pieces of paper. As of last week, Hannah Montana was still going beyond records of acclaimed artists such as The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, Van Halen, Genesis and The Police.
Columbus broke a record as tickets to the Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds show flew out within 15 minutes. Opening at 10am, the box office was able to sell all of its Hannah Montana tickets by 10:15am. The incredible sell out was beyond rapid ticket selling records previously held by the Rolling Stones, who sold out their show in one day.
In Omaha, Nebraska, a similar rapid sell out occurred as all tickets were picked up in a matter of 35 minutes. In the past, Elton John's show took a day to consume all tickets.
TicketNews.com reports that Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana is competing with the Sting-led Police as the concert with the most number of weeks leading the concert charts. Challenging competitors for the 14-year-old singer/actress are The Boss and his E Street Band, who landed on the countdown on the sixth place. As of last weekend, Springsteen moved on to the second spot.
Among the top three on the chart is the 1980s glam-rock group, Van Halen, who are currently enjoying the limelight once again as avid followers who have been waiting for their return in two decades have been sweeping up their tickets. Their upcoming tour is the first in 22 years that the band will be playing live, with David Lee Roth on vocals.
The iconic rock group garnered early sellouts, however the demand for their tickets have slowed down, thus Bruce Springsteen charged forward, leaving them at the third spot on the chart.
